“If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it” - Margaret Fuller
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of HAIRCON 2020 and the Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons (AHRS), India and as the Organizing Chairman of Haircon 2020, I would like to invite you to the 11th annual meeting of the association to be held at the Novotel Juhu Beach, Mumbai from the 6th to the 8th of March 2020. The meeting is being conducted under the presidency of Dr. Lakshyajit Dhami.
In the plethora of conferences why would one want to attend another conference? One reason would be that everybody has something to learn from conferences, no matter how many years of experience they have. You might be an expert in your field, but you will always find people that are less experienced who can give you great ideas or teach you something new. While the “sharpen the saw” idea certainly pre-dates Stephen Covey, he lists it as his seventh habit of highly effective people. The idea is that sometimes you have to take a break from the “work” of your work to sharpen your skills. A dull axe won’t cut a tree nearly as effectively as a sharp one.
Why HAIRCON 2020?
With the advent of unqualified doctors venturing into hair restoration and a surge in ghost surgeries it is the endeavor of the AHRS, India to deal with this on a war footing. This would be possible when we would have more or less uniform views on the problem of hair loss and restoration and a standard approach to dealing with the same. One of the avenues would be develop consensus on a lot of matters pertaining to this problem. HAIRCON 2020 is attempting to do that. By keeping the didactic sessions to the bare minimum, we have tweaked the format of the conference to include numerous panel discussions and improve audience participation.
The Scientific Committee headed by Dr. Rajesh Rajput and assisted by Dr. Anil Garg along with Dr. Mayank Singh, Dr. Sukhbir Singh and Dr. Muthuvel Kumarasen is busy working to create a wonderful scientific program.
We are having on board a faculty of experienced hair transplant surgeons and academicians both from the country and visiting. However, the delegates are expected to make the biggest contribution by raising questions and contributing your opinions.
The conference is held in Mumbai the land of sun, sand and swaying palm trees with a lot of history behind it. The venue is –The Novotel on the Juhu Beach - a breathtaking beachfront property offering strategic location with comprehensive facilities which provide modern comfort.
I again invite you to be a part of this educational meeting to share your knowledge and in the process help all of us to lean and grow.
